This policy should be read together with our Terms of Use and Subscription Terms.

  1. Scope

This policy applies to paid subscriptions and other digital services purchased directly through Probiotics.info.

It does not govern purchases of probiotic products or other goods made through third-party retailers, manufacturers, marketplaces, or affiliate links.

For purchases made from a third party, the cancellation and refund terms of that third party apply.

  1. Cancelling a subscription

You may cancel an active subscription at any time through the cancellation method made available for your account or by contacting:

[email protected]

Cancellation prevents the subscription from renewing for a future billing period.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law, cancelling a subscription does not normally end access immediately.

  1. Access after cancellation

If you cancel after paying for a subscription period, you will normally retain access to the paid features included in your plan until the end of that already-paid billing period.

After the billing period ends:

The subscription will not renew
Future subscription charges will stop
Paid access may revert to the free service or other available access level

Cancellation and withdrawal are different concepts.

Cancelling future renewal does not necessarily mean that the original purchase is refunded.

  1. Automatic renewal

Where a plan is offered as an automatically renewing subscription, the subscription may renew at the end of each billing period unless it has been cancelled before renewal.

The applicable billing period and price are shown when you subscribe.

We do not intend to charge a subscription after it has been validly cancelled before its next renewal.

  1. EU right of withdrawal

Consumers purchasing services online in the European Union generally have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance contract without giving a reason, subject to applicable legal rules and exceptions.

For services, the 14-day period generally begins after the day the contract is concluded.

This statutory right is separate from the ability to cancel future subscription renewals. EU guidance confirms a general 14-day cooling-off period for online service contracts. :contentReference[oaicite:0]{index=0}

  1. Requesting immediate access during the withdrawal period

Probiotics.info may provide access to paid digital features immediately after purchase.

Where applicable law requires it, we may ask you to expressly request that performance of the service begins during the statutory withdrawal period.

Beginning to use the service does not automatically remove every statutory consumer right.

The legal consequences depend on the type of contract, whether the service has been fully performed, and whether the legally required information and consent have been provided.

  1. Fully performed services

For certain services, the statutory withdrawal right may cease once the service has been fully performed if:

You expressly requested that performance begin during the withdrawal period; and

You acknowledged, where legally required, that you would lose the right of withdrawal once the service had been fully performed.

EU consumer rules recognise an exception for fully delivered services where the consumer expressly agreed to immediate performance and acknowledged the loss of the withdrawal right. :contentReference[oaicite:1]{index=1}

  1. Digital content

Some Probiotics.info features may involve digital content supplied electronically.

Different rules can apply to digital content that is not supplied on a physical medium.

Where required by law, loss of the statutory withdrawal right for such digital content generally depends on the consumer expressly agreeing to performance beginning and acknowledging the consequences for the withdrawal right.

We do not rely on a waiver of statutory withdrawal rights unless the requirements for that waiver have been satisfied.

  1. How to exercise the right of withdrawal

Where you have a statutory right to withdraw, you may inform us of your decision by contacting:

[email protected]

Your message should include sufficient information for us to identify the relevant purchase, such as:

Your name
The email address associated with your account
The subscription or service purchased
The approximate purchase date

You do not need to provide a reason for exercising a statutory right of withdrawal.

  1. Withdrawal statement

You may use wording such as:

“I hereby give notice that I withdraw from my contract for the Probiotics.info subscription or digital service purchased on [date].”

You are not required to use this exact wording.

A clear statement communicating your decision to withdraw is sufficient where the statutory right applies.

  1. Refund following a valid withdrawal

Where you validly exercise a statutory withdrawal right, we will refund payments as required by applicable law.

Where permitted by law, an amount may be payable for services already provided during the withdrawal period if:

You expressly requested that service performance begin during the withdrawal period; and

The applicable legal requirements for charging a proportionate amount have been met.

Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

  1. Voluntary refunds outside the statutory withdrawal right

Outside a statutory right to a refund, subscription payments are generally not refundable merely because:

You did not use the service
You used fewer reports than your plan allowed
You changed your mind after the applicable withdrawal period
You forgot to cancel before a renewal
You no longer need the service

However, we may consider refund requests individually where circumstances justify doing so.

Any discretionary refund does not create an obligation to issue similar refunds in other cases.

  1. Accidental renewal

If you believe a subscription renewed accidentally, contact us as soon as possible at:

[email protected]

Please include:

The account email address
The renewal date
The subscription involved

We may review the request based on circumstances such as:

How soon the request was made after renewal
Whether the renewed service has been substantially used
Applicable consumer law
Payment processing status

This does not limit statutory rights you may have.

  1. Duplicate payments

If you are charged more than once for the same subscription or transaction because of a technical or payment-processing error, please contact us.

Confirmed duplicate charges will be corrected or refunded as appropriate.

  1. Incorrect charges

If you believe you were charged an incorrect amount, contact:

[email protected]

Please provide enough information for us to identify and investigate the transaction.

If an error occurred, we will take appropriate steps to correct it.

  1. Failed or interrupted services

If a paid feature is temporarily unavailable because of:

Maintenance
Server problems
Technical errors
Third-party outages
Security incidents

this does not automatically entitle users to a full refund.

Where a paid digital service materially fails to conform to the contract, applicable consumer rights and remedies remain available.

EU consumer rules also provide statutory protections for digital content and digital services. :contentReference[oaicite:2]{index=2}

  1. Material failure of a paid service

If you cannot access a paid service or the service materially differs from what was purchased, please contact us so that we can investigate.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, an appropriate remedy may include:

Restoring access
Correcting the problem
Extending access
Reducing the price
Providing a refund
Terminating the affected service

Nothing in this policy limits mandatory rights concerning defective or non-conforming digital services.

  1. Usage limits

Subscription plans may include limits such as:

Daily research reports
Research requests
Generated reports
Access to particular features

Reaching the advertised usage limit for your plan is not considered a defect in the service.

Usage limits are part of the applicable subscription offering.

  1. Upgrades

Where users can upgrade to another subscription plan, the price and timing of that upgrade should be shown before the change is completed.

Depending on the billing system, an upgrade may:

Take effect immediately
Result in a prorated charge
Take effect at the next billing period

The terms shown when the upgrade is requested take precedence.

  1. Downgrades

Where downgrades are available, they may take effect at the end of the current paid billing period.

Until then, the existing subscription may remain active.

A downgrade generally does not create a refund for unused capacity in the current subscription period unless required by law.

  1. Promotional offers

Subscriptions purchased through discounts, promotions, or introductory offers may be subject to the terms presented with that offer.

Any automatic renewal price following a promotional period should be disclosed before purchase where required.

Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

  1. Refund method

Where a refund is due, we normally refund it through the original payment method where technically possible.

Processing time may depend on:

The payment provider
The bank
The card issuer
The payment method

A refund being issued by us does not necessarily mean it will appear immediately in your account.

  1. Stripe

Payments and refunds may be processed using Stripe.

Stripe may require several business days for a completed refund to appear through the relevant payment method.

The availability and timing of payment processing can depend on Stripe and the financial institutions involved.

  1. Chargebacks

If you believe a payment is incorrect, we encourage you to contact us first at:

[email protected]

This gives us an opportunity to investigate and resolve the issue.

Nothing in this section removes any legal right you have to dispute an unauthorised or incorrect payment through your payment provider.

  1. Third-party product purchases

Probiotics.info may link to external probiotic products through affiliate links.

Probiotics.info does not normally sell those products directly.

If you purchase a product after following an external link, questions concerning:

Cancellation
Returns
Refunds
Delivery
Damaged products
Incorrect products
Product warranties

should normally be directed to the retailer or seller from whom the purchase was made.

  1. Account termination

Closing your Probiotics.info account does not automatically create a right to a refund for an already-paid subscription period.

You should cancel any active subscription before closing an account where this is necessary to prevent renewal.

Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.

  1. Cancellation by Probiotics.info

In exceptional circumstances, we may need to discontinue or terminate a paid service.

Where we permanently terminate a paid service before the end of a prepaid period for reasons not caused by serious user misconduct, we may provide an appropriate remedy, which may include a proportionate refund where appropriate.

Applicable statutory rights remain unaffected.

  1. Abuse or serious violations

A refund may not be available solely because access has been restricted following serious misuse, fraud, security abuse, or material breach of our Terms of Use, subject always to applicable law.

Any restriction should be proportionate to the circumstances.

  1. Mandatory consumer rights

This policy does not exclude or reduce any consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

If a provision in this policy conflicts with mandatory consumer law applicable to you, the mandatory legal rule takes precedence.

  1. Changes to this policy

We may update this Cancellation & Refund Policy when:

Subscription functionality changes
Payment systems change
New services are introduced
Consumer law changes
Our cancellation procedures change

The current version will be published on this page together with its latest update date.
